The Albert County Historical Society Incorporated will be celebrating Canada 150 by sharing culture through seeds! They will be talking history this summer by bringing people together at garden tours and dinners and sharing stories about food, gardens and seeds from many cultures. The project will feature garden planting, garden tours, community suppers, knowledge sharing and seed saving in an effort to promote environmental stewardship by encouraging the local production of saving native species, heirloom varieties and introducing new food crops that represent various cultural influences in our history.
The Town of Sussex will implement a strategic plan to seek out new economic opportunities and help reduce the adverse economic impact resulting from the January 2016 suspension of operations at the Picadilly Potash mine, thanks in part to investments from the governments of Canada and New Brunswick.
